ART-CAFE / HOME: THE DEFINITION OF TBILISI COOL

REVIEW

I’ll be honest with you guys: I was supposed to write this piece on Friday, but I soon realized that I had to head back to Art-Café/HOME once more before I was able to do so. Suffering from writer’s block, the words failed to hit the page because I literally couldn’t remember anything from the night before except the drinks we’d had: Vodka Julep, Rosa Luxemburg, Vega and Susana.

A night that started out casual ended in total inebriation as we got hooked on Art-Café/Home’s absolutely incredible cocktails — by far the best I’ve had anywhere in Georgia. The Vega and Vodka Julep are definitely my personal recommendations, though there are many, many more on their menu that I still need to try out. It was my intention to taste a few more the other night, but here it seems that the bartenders actually respect their customers: I was floored after four. Granted, the plush and homey atmosphere of the place, comfortable sofas and delightful variety of art covering the walls, contributed to our good vibes.

Speaking of floors, their music is also on point, allowing one to dance the night away in your seat or on their dance floor to a soundtrack that complements the delightfulness of their drinks. Set over three floors, the café/bar/club offers the perfect night out, and the chance to recuperate and change scenery lest you get bored of one of the floors. Tbilisi is full of traditional-meets-contemporary drinking holes, and Art Café HOME is the definition of Tbilisi cool.

Nestled in the Old Town. With antique ornaments scattered around, the atmosphere is like no other. Fridays and Saturdays see some of the hippest DJs hitting the decks.

It really is the place to be seen in, to dance, and spoil yourself with some divine cocktails — an Epicurean heaven!
